About David Sanger Photography
Travel photographer David Sanger has photographed in over 100 countries, and makes his home in Albany, California in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a photojournalist, he sees photography as a transforming experience, an opening to the wonder and joy of life. " I am continually amazed at the intricate variety and diversity of our world."
A graduate of Amherst College in Massachusetts, he discovered his true passion early, travelling overland to India through Turkey and Afghanistan, carrying a 35mm Minoltina camera and a bag of Kodachrome. Moving to California, he continued, exploring the Bay Area hills and trails, and then, farther afield, to China, India, Europe and the Caribbean. Photography and writing assignments for major magazines followed.
In 1998 David was recognized as the Photographer of the Year by the Society of American Travel Writers. In addition to editorial clients he photographs for commercial, travel and non-profit clients and design firms in the US, Asia and Europe. His images are represented by Getty Images and AlamyImages
In 2006 David served as president of the Stock Artists Alliance, a professional association representing stock photographers worlwide. He is also a member of ASMP (American Society of Media Professionals), and TJG(Travel Journalists Guild
